Sliding Scale Fees

Anessa Novasio wants to make legal services affordable to all.

Anessa will work with you to develop a fee arrangement that works for you. Sliding scale fees, based on your income, are designed to increase your access to quality legal services.

Fees are subject to sliding scale rates based on income and family size, as set forth below. Payment plans may be available. Venmo, Paypal, Zelle and other electronic payments are accepted for client convenience.

Market rate legal fees can be prohibitive for low and middle income people. Although there are community organizations that provide pro bono or reduced fee legal assistance (click here for links to these resources), our society does not come close to meeting the need for affordable legal services.
Anessa offers sliding scale rates based on gross household income. Contingency fee, flat fees, and payment plans may also be available. Hourly rates are more cost-effective when clients choose to be more involved in their cases, for example by filling out as much of their own forms (especially for immigration and divorce) as they can.  Anessa also accepts a limited number of pro bono clients and does her best to provide legal services at rates her clients can afford. Please inquire for more information.

Anessa's regular hourly rate is $300/ hour. Initial consultations are $195 for up to 90 minutes including legal research.

Sliding scale rates range from $100-$200/ hour:

Reduced hourly rates are available based on household size and income level (see table below):
  • Client household income 250% or less than Federal Poverty Level: $100/hour
  • Client household income 250-350% of Federal Poverty Level: $150/hour
  • Client household income 350-450% of Federal Poverty Level: $200/hour
